(the "Company" or "Surge") (TSX: SGY) is extending the deadline for submission of proxies for our upcoming annual general meeting of shareholders to be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. (MST). All forms of proxy may now be deposited with Olympia Trust Company at any time prior to the commencement of the meeting. To date, Surge has received proxies from the holders of only approximately 34% of the outstanding shares and Surge is extending the proxy deadline to encourage greater shareholder participation.
